The lovely herbaceous perennial Neomarica caerulea (Indigo Blue) has strap-shaped leaves. For one day, a delicate purple iris blossom blooms. The flower stalk arches to the ground after the bloom has faded, where it takes root and grows into its own plant—hence the name Walking Iris. An excellent plant for rockery plantings, containers, and borders. They look fantastic in hanging baskets as well. a resilient and adaptable plant that requires regular liquid fertiliser applications during in bloom and hydration during dry spells.
