The slow-growing gum palm, or Dioon spinulosum, is a cycad that is indigenous to Mexico's steep slopes. A tough trunk has green stiff feathery leaves on top. carries out nicely in pots. Because of the sharp foliage near paths, exercise caution. Excellent for formal and tropical planting plans. Over 10m tall while wild, but only 3–4m tall when cultivated.
