Carpobrotus glaucescens, commonly known as Pigface, is a hardy, fast-spreading native succulent ground cover with thick, fleshy blue-green leaves. It produces striking bright purple-pink daisy-like flowers with a yellow center, which bloom in spring and summer, attracting bees and other pollinators. The fruit is edible and enjoyed by native wildlife.

Growing Requirements:
Pigface thrives in full sun and well-draining sandy or rocky soils. It is extremely drought-tolerant, salt-tolerant, and wind-resistant, making it ideal for coastal gardens, erosion control, and rockeries. Once established, it requires minimal watering.

Unique Features:

  • Fast-growing and spreading, perfect for ground cover.
  • Drought, salt, and wind-tolerant—great for coastal and dry landscapes.
  • Striking bright flowers attract pollinators.
