A graceful garden specimen with delicate arching poles. Young culms (poles) are tinged with a white bloom that almost looks purple when first shooting. Prefers dappled sunlight or semi-shade but can grow in full sun if kept well-watered. Makes an excellent screen. Remarkably like the Himalayan Weeping and Purple Jade bamboos.
