The species is beautiful and upright. When exposed to full sunlight, powdered culms (poles) are bluish in color and mature to green. For some meters, the culms are exposed and leafless, then they are covered with lush green leaves. Suitable for gardens or as a 2-story screen. Handicrafts can be made with thin-walled, long culms.
