 Spathiphyllums originate from tropical areas of the Americas and southern Asia. Some Spathiphyllum species are commonly called spath or peace lilies. These are evergreen, herbaceous perennials with large leaves with a length between 12-65 cm and a width between 3-25 cm. The flowers are grown in a flowering cluster called a spadix, which is typically surrounded by the characteristic white, yellowish, or greenish casing that surrounds the outer edge of the clusters of flowers. The peace lily can improve indoor air quality by absorbing pollutants such as ammonia, carbon monoxide, and formaldehyde.
